I’m a jack of all trades, working on projects ranging from writing for our employee handbook and standard operating procedures to overhauling our shared network drive to serving as corporate secretary. My first position out of college was senior studio engineer at the NPR station in Bloomington, Indiana, and my last position before Merced was a freelance medical transcriptionist–with several diverse careers in between. I’ve been playing the piano since age four and have at one time or another played 7 instruments and sung in semi-professional choirs. Music is still a vital part of my life. I’m a voracious reader, sometimes read out loud to my husband and dog. I began at the New Braunfels Herald Zeitung Daily newspaper as a typesetter in 1993 and by 1997 was a news editor with an AP award under my belt. My many-faceted career history serves me well as I help every team in some ways and the whole team at Merced in other ways. Along with the operations team, I grease the wheels and get a variety of important tasks and projects done that wouldn’t be completed if I weren’t here.
