I manage the development and delivery of health, safety, and accessibility-related repairs for cost-burdened homeowners in San Antonio and Bexar County. I also teach home maintenance courses for our clients and others, as well as serving on the City’s Planning Commission, and an affordable housing subcommittee. I worked in the field of architectural design for 20 years before adjusting my focus to the more rewarding work of preserving and protecting housing affordability in my hometown. Some of my past projects include elementary schools, public park pool houses, restaurants, multi-family developments, and private homes. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, pets, and neighbors. I am an active yoga practitioner, and I read books constantly. I earned a Master of Architecture degree from the University of New Mexico, where I graduated with distinction. The work that I do for Merced helps strengthen healthy communities by providing life-enhancing home improvements for individuals and families who might otherwise not be able to afford them. Doing this work also helps families and communities remain strong by allowing people to age in place, protecting generational wealth, and helping to maintain social and cultural ties to the communities that we call home.
