Joy McGraw

Resident Services Coordinator

I provide supportive services to low-income families and older adults at three apartment communities in Nueces County. I partner with community vendors such as home health agencies, insurance agents, veteran services, etc. to provide information and resources to the residents in each apartment community. I’ve been a Foster Parent for 9 years in my home and have fostered 27 children during that time with my husband. Previously, I was an investigator with Adult Protective Services for more than 13 years where I investigated abuse, neglect and exploitation of older adults and disabled persons, and provided services to them as I collaborated with community entities to protect clients and provide resources to them. Outside of work, I enjoy fishing and swimming at the beach or a pool and hanging out with my dog, Bradley Cooper. I have a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and am a certified community health worker. I show integrity while working with the residents and keeping their information confidential. I collaborate with agencies, management, and other entities to bring needed information to the residents to help them age in place. I show compassion in as I work to provide necessary resources and referrals to residents. Daily, I provide services to the residents whether it be assisting them to fill out HUD Recertification paperwork, Medicaid/Medicare applications, providing resources, and listening to the residents.
