Valerie Tellez-Giron

Resident Services Coordinator

I oversee a Merced multi-family apartment community in the San Antonio, Bexar County Area. My responsibilities include coordinating events such as Neighbor’s Together, offering supportive services through resources to utility and/or housing assistance, facilitating backpack drives, and quarterly produce distributions. Along with my coworkers, we also attend networking events to learn more about organizations we can collaborate with to bring more resources to the apartment communities we serve. Previously, I worked in Childcare and assisted different teachers that taught different age groups. To fill my free time, I occasionally work at a shoe store, which helps keep my customer service skills sharp as a service coordinator. I also volunteer monthly with ChildSafe supporting the Volunteer Coordinator with administrative support. In this volunteer role I learn of other resources to share with the Residents at the Merced community I serve. While I am not working, I enjoy puppy and kitty snuggles from my dog, Charlie, and my cats, Ronnie and Weasley. I also spend time hosting/co-hosting events from a ladies group. I graduated in December of 2023 with my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and recently completed a course to become a Certified Community Health Worker/Promotora. My daily work serves the Merced mission by providing supportive services to residents if they need assistance in completing applications, including support with food insecurity and basic household essentials.
