For the past eleven years, I have served residents that reside at a multi-family community on the Eastside of San Antonio with resources and referrals as needed. I also provide a property newsletter that announces monthly activities and events. This newsletter invites the residents to take the opportunity to socialize and meet their neighbors plus, take the opportunity and utilize the services offered at no charge. My prior nonprofit experience is in working with older adults and families as we provided weekly pantries and daily meals, plus personal hygiene items and other resources if needed. I also worked as a floral designer for 21 years prior to my nonprofit service. These are the years I learned how to “juggle” many roles and was able to bring my experience and compassion to serve the residents at my current position. I am a huge advocate for the Arts! I love sculpting with red clay, painting ceramics with acrylics, floral design, and creating Fiesta wreaths. One professional achievement I am very proud of in 2018 was being awarded the Peter Irwin Community Advocate Award by The Center for Formative Action and Reflection. By providing Resident Services to help families, individuals, and older adults to help with the challenge of finding solutions to their specific needs, I give them encouragement to follow through with the opportunities available to help them to help bring them closer to living in a state of housing stability.
