Oscar Eason Senior Apartments--A New Home for Seniors in the heart of San Antonio's East Side

The Oscar Eason Senior Apartments, an apartment community for very low-income seniors, is under development in the heart of San Antonio’s East Side at the corner of Commerce and Olive streets.

To be eligible to live at Oscar Eason Senior Apartments, you must:
• Be 62 years of age or older
• Have an income of 50% or less of the Area Median income ($20,600 for a person living alone)

The Oscar Eason Senior Apartments is funded through a Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and support from the City of San Antonio.

Merced's Multi-family Program

a neighborhood gathering at Stablewood Farms ApartmentsAt Merced, we believe that no one should pay an excessive portion of income for housing. Through our multifamily program, we provide affordable rents for low- to moderate-income individuals and families.

We have developed 1,650 units of high quality multi-family housing units in San Antonio, Somerset, Corpus Christi, Conroe, Karnes City, Fort Worth and Goliad, Texas. Currently under construction are the Oscar Eason Senior Apartments, a 33-unit community for very low-income seniors on the East Side of San Antonio at the corner of Commerce and Olive streets.

In addition to affordable rents, Merced offers a Resident Services Program at each multi-family community, through which social services children exercising during an after-school programand supportive programs are available for residents, on site at their apartment homes. Resident Services Coordinators and the Resident Services Manager also refer residents to a host of resources available to them in the greater community.
